Children's privacy & parental consent notice
Last updated: July 2, 2026
This notice is written for parents and guardians. Your child's club uses ERA Skills, a character development program for competitive youth sports teams. It explains, in plain language, what information we collect about your child, how consent works, what you can see, and the choices you have. It supplements our general Privacy Policy.
What ERA Skills is
ERA Skills combines a coaching curriculum, coach training, and web software. As part of the program, athletes complete guided self-reflections about character skills and rate teammates with short written comments. Coaches review all peer ratings and comments and use them in their coaching. The goal is character development — there are no rankings, no leaderboards, and no public player profiles by default.
What information we collect about your child
- Basic roster information entered by the club, such as your child's name, age group, and team.
- Your child's guided self-reflection responses.
- Ratings and comments your child writes about teammates, and ratings and comments teammates write about your child.
- Evaluations recorded by your child's coach.
We do not collect this information for advertising, we never sell it, and we do not build public profiles from it.
Consent comes before participation
Parental consent is collected before any athlete participates in the program. ERA Skills is designed for athletes aged 13–18. If a club wishes to include a child under 13, we require verifiable parental consent — meaning consent confirmed through a method reasonably designed to ensure it is actually the parent or guardian giving it — before the child can take part.
Who can see your child's information
- Your child sees only their own scores — never other players' scores.
- Coaches see the assessments for the players on their teams, including all peer ratings and comments, so they can moderate them and coach from them.
- You, as a parent or guardian, see only your own child's scores, plus the comments your child wrote about teammates. You do not see other children's scores, and other parents do not see your child's.
Scores are never made public, and we do not provide rankings or leaderboards.
How parent access works
There is no self-serve signup for parents. After consent is in place, the coach or club administrator issues you a parent PIN, which you use to access your child's information. If you have not received a PIN, ask your child's coach or club administrator.
Your rights as a parent
- You can review the personal information we hold about your child.
- You can ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
- You can revoke your consent at any time and ask us to delete your child's personal information. If you revoke consent, your child will stop participating in the program and we will delete their data, except where limited records must be kept for legal reasons.
To exercise any of these rights, email dane.berman@eraskills.com. We will verify that you are the child's parent or guardian before acting.
How your child's data is stored and shared
Athlete data is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, in a United States region, and is protected by encryption in transit and role-based access within the application. We share personal information only with the service providers that run the platform (hosting and email delivery); athlete data is not shared with our payment processor. We never sell personal information and never use it for advertising.
